Does Beta also play the two-stroke card?
You could recently read on this site that Sherco is busy developing a new two-stroke enduro line works. But the brand from Provence is not the only one that wants to use the two-stroke card again for its enduro motorcycles.
Beta has also changed its mind. In addition to the familiar four-stroke enduro line-up, we can also expect a new two-stroke enduro line from the Italians. Last year a rumor circulated that Beta would join forces with Gas Gas to become stronger together. But nothing concrete came of an Italian-Spanish marriage of convenience.
According to a source close to the Italian brand, Beta engineers are developing their own two-stroke enduro engines. It is likely that this will initially concern 250/300cc versions. But our source also did not rule out a 125cc version. It is currently unclear whether the Beta two-strokes will be equipped with fuel injection in the first phase.
There is no specific target date yet for getting the Beta two-strokes on the market, although the Italians could aim for the EICMA in November to present the new line-up.
