Sherco develops two-stroke enduros
In a rare interview with the French monthly magazine Moto Crampons, Sherco boss Marc Teissier has confirmed that the French Off-road brand will play the two-stroke card for its enduro motorcycles.
Sherco's CEO confirmed that the brand is currently developing 250cc and 300cc two-stroke engines. The introduction of a two-stroke enduro line is dictated by the market. The two-stroke Shercos will be equipped with an electric starter, but will still be powered by a carburetor in the first phase. However, Teissier emphasized that Sherco's future two-stroke blocks are being developed with the introduction of injection in mind. Teissier previously gained experience in two-stroke enduro motorcycles as boss of Scorpa and HRD. Moreover, Sherco has always continued to build two-stroke trials motorcycles.
In addition to the development of a two-stroke line, Sherco is also focusing on the Evolt project. The Evolt is Sherco's interpretation of an electric off-road motorcycle.
