Jannes Vos on stage during EMX85
The first race of the European Championship 85cc 'Central Europe' (EMX85) went very well for Jannes Vos. The KTM rider was able to climb onto the podium at the Svebolle circuit! With a fifth and second place, the student came third in the daily rankings. On Easter Monday, the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross continued in Oldebroek. There Jannes managed to finish ninth in the daily rankings.
Denmark:
On Saturday Jannes is the fastest in his group and wins the qualifying match. The Alpinestars-clad crosser can therefore start from pole position. The start of the first heat is very good and the 14 year old rider takes the lead! He manages to hold this for about ten minutes and then small mistakes creep in. As a result, Jannes drops to fourth place, only to be passed by Ernecker in the final phase. The Vos Racing driver is not completely satisfied with fifth place, but the riding went very well.
The MotoXshop rider also makes the best start in the second round. He set the pace for a long time, but Leppävlä increased the pressure later in the match. With success because the Finn takes over the lead from Jannes, who crosses the finish line in second place. This means he can climb onto the podium just west of the capital Copenhagen.
Oldebroek:
After a short night during the journey from Denmark, Jannes immediately knows how to find the right lines on 'Circuit De Bargen' in Oldebroek. He managed to qualify sixth for both heats later in the day. The start of the first heat is very bad and from 24th place the South Hollander has to work to score as many points as possible. That works because after almost 15 minutes of competition the KTM rider arrives at the tenth man. Both battle each other for tenth place, but Degvold benefits from this battle. In the last lap the Norwegian can pass them both! So Jannes crosses the finish line in twelfth place.
The start of the second heat is better and Jannes starts the race over 20 minutes and 1 lap well in the top ten. For a moment seventh place is taken, but the Estonian Leok has a higher pace and passes. The Swiss Opligger also follows later and Jannes joins Maris at his rear wheel in the final phase. Where things went wrong earlier in the day in the last round, the attack is now going well. In the final lap eighth place is regained.
Next time:
The European 85cc Championship will continue on April 13-14 at the Eurocircuit of Valkenswaard. A week later the final of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross takes place at the Markelo circuit.
