Coldenhoff and Bogers about the MXGP Riola Sardo
During the third race of the FIM MXGP World Championship, Brian Bogers made his return to the Grand Prix. The Brabander showed up strongly, looking back on the race in Riola Sardo together with teammate Glenn Coldenhoff.
Glenn Coldenhoff:
“The first heat went quite well, I had a good start and was able to maintain my pace, P4 was certainly not bad. I think that was the most positive thing about this weekend. The start was good again in the second moto, but I got tangled up with other riders in the first corner. I was far behind, I gave everything but it was difficult. I haven't shown what I'm capable of. Even though my speed wasn't great, I could only finish ninth. Sixth overall is still decent, but it's not what I'm working so hard for. I want to perform well and be near the podium. I know it's difficult in the MXGP class at the moment, but I feel I'm definitely capable of being there on a good day. We'll keep working, we'll do some tests on Wednesday and get ready for Arco – hopefully to be on the podium there.”
Brian Bogers:
“I am quite surprised by my performance. Yes, I'm a sand rider, but you also have to be fit for these types of jobs – and normally I'm not fit enough when I come in. I was still in the top 10 in five of the six sessions, so I can't complain about a top 10 overall in my first GP back. I'm a very lucky guy to have this opportunity and I'm very happy with the performance I've already shown this weekend. The engine already feels great, which is a really big advantage. We can only go up from here and it will be interesting to see what we can do when I'm 100% fit.”
