Haiden Deegan gets a penalty and loses two places
The 9th AMA Supercross took place last night in Birmingham, USA. In the 250SX, Haiden Deegan was given a penalty after flying off the track and having to continue his way next to the circuit.
The fact that he cut the track to get back on track was not the main sore point for the AMA. That was his acceleration in the short period that he drove off the track. The jury suggested that it may have provided an advantage and, after watching the images, put Deegan back two places, moving him from seventh to ninth place.
Interestingly, Deegan was not the only rider involved in this off-track excursion, but was the only one penalized. This suggests that his other incidents during the evening also contributed to his sentence. Haiden Deegan sits fourth in the 250SX Championship standings, 12 points behind leader Tom Vialle.
