McCullough triumphs in Boekel, Gregoire the leader
In Boekel, Cole McCullough won the second race of the KNMV Dutch 125cc Championship. The Fantic rider was the best in both rounds on 'Circuit Bezuidenhout'. The Irishman won ahead of the Norwegian Pelle Gundersen (3-2) and Dean Gregoire (2-3) completed the podium at MC Boekel. Gregoire takes the lead in the standings.
1e some
The first moto Gundersen takes the best start ahead of McCullough. However, the Irishman quickly takes the lead and cannot be traced. For a moment, after passing Guus Fredriksen, Gregoire seems to be closing the gap with the leader, but that doesn't work. Gundersen made a mistake on the first lap, which dropped him back to eighth place. He quickly recovered and after four laps he ended up in third place. Dex Kooiker (photo) crosses the finish line fourth ahead of Jayson van Drunen. The Eindhoven native started the race in fifteenth place, but he is coming back strong!
2e some
In the second heat, Gregoire takes the best start ahead of Michel Psiuk. The Pole is quickly passed for McCullough, but he then has his hands in front of Gregoire. Just in the first half of the race the leader makes a mistake and that gives McCullough the lead. He then also wins the second heat ahead of Gundersen. He gets into a fight with Gregoire in the final phase, but the 13-year-old rider makes a mistake in his haste to pass the Norwegian. Gregoire comes third ahead of Van Drunen and Kooiker completes the top five.
This championship will continue on April 7, when the riders will be guests at the Lochem circuit.
