Webb puts pressure on Jett Lawrence
As the leader in the final of the seventh event in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX, Jett Lawrence makes a mistake. Cooper Webb seizes this opportunity with both hands and takes his second win of the season. Eli Tomac finishes second ahead of Aaron Plessinger. Lawrence comes fourth ahead of his brother Hunter. In the standings, Lawrence is three points ahead of Webb and Plessinger passes teammate Chase Sexton for third place.
When the starting gate drops for the final, 'Jettson' gets the best start ahead of brother Hunter. This is quickly passed by Webb, Plessinger starts sixth but he quickly manages to leave Vince Friese and Tomac behind him. A little later Tomac makes a mistake, dropping back to 16th place! Little by little, Lawrence manages to increase his lead while Plessinger has to work hard to take over third place from Hunter Lawrence. The beast in Tomac emerges and he fights back to a podium place when he manages to catch up with Plessinger. Then things go wrong with leader Lawrence who crashes, but the Honda rider can quickly continue. The leader in the standings returns to Webb and in the last lap he attacks for victory. However, there is Friese on the inside who makes way but is hit by Lawrence. Due to this crash, the Australian loses two places and finishes fourth ahead of his brother.
The championship continues next week in Daytona.
