Micha Boy De Waal and Nico Greutmann win in Lommel
The opening match of the Belgian competition was held last weekend in the sand of Lommel. Organizer BeTeMo had done a great job there to offer a well-organized circuit to the hundreds of riders. The Dutchman Micha Boy De Waal won the 500cc while the German Nico Greutmann won the 250cc.
The amount of water made for a tough cross in Lommel, but that didn't bother anyone. Micha Boy De Waal won both heats on his GasGas machine and held off Wesley Dieudonne who finished second in both heats. Matteo Puffet was allowed on the podium and took third place in the final standings.
At the Inters 250, German Nico Greutmann won the race. He took the holeshot in series one, but then bit into the Lommel sand and had to leave the series victory to the Aussie Liam Owens. Ryan de Beer came third. Greutmann then corrected the situation in the second heat and sprinted to the series and overall victory. He was flanked on stage by Liam Owens and Ryan de Beer. Jarne Bervoets was also there but dropped out in the first series. He finished 10th in heat two.
