Forkner lives up to his role as favorite in Detroit
The first event of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX East Coast was won by Austin Forkner. The Kawasaki rider managed to take victory in Detroit ahead of Max Anstie and Daxton Bennick. Triumph's debut went well, with Jalek Swoll finishing sixth at the Ford Field Stadium.
In the final, things go completely wrong in the first corner when Seth Hammaker and Tom Vialle collide. The second straight ahead takes many riders with them in their fall, such as Haiden Deegan, Cameron McAdoo, Nick Romano and Evan Ferry. Forkner takes the lead and never relinquishes it. Chance Hymas battled with Anstie for second place for a long time, but the Brit managed to claim this spot. A little later Hymas makes a mistake and has to settle for tenth place. Bennick manages to take advantage and finishes third ahead of Coty Schock and GasGas driver Pierce Brown. Guillem Farres makes his supercross debut and the Spaniard crosses the finish line in eighth.
The West Coast will be in action next week during the game in Glendale. A week later it is 'East's turn again in Arlington.
