Forkner makes the mistake and Deegan wins his first
In Arlington, Haiden Deegan won the second round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX East Coast. The Yamaha rider managed to take advantage when leader Austin Forkner made a mistake. Cameron McAdoo and Tom Vialle stand next to Deegan on stage. Max Anstie is the new leader in the standings ahead of Pierce Brown and Daxton Bennick.
In the final over 15 minutes and a lap, Deegan takes the best start, followed by teammate Nicky Romano and two Kawasakis and Vialle. Fornker is clearly in a hurry because he quickly manages to get past the Star Racing Yamahas to take the lead. In the first half of the match, McAdoo gets past Romano and later Seth Hammaker. More than third place doesn't seem to be possible, but for Deegan, Forkner isn't really off. However, with three minutes of racing left, the leader makes a mistake and the Pro Circuit rider crashes hard. Deegan takes over the lead and wins ahead of McAdoo and Vialle, who just manages to stay in control of Hammaker in a nice fight. Pierce Brown completes the top five ahead of Max Anstie.
The championship continues next week with the Daytona Supercross!
