VIDEO: Descending by bike on the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel
The most infamous downhill run for professional skiers is the famous “Hahnenkamm” in Kitzbühel, Austria. This descent is called “The Streif” and rightly scares every skier who dares to do it. How would the descent proceed if you replaced the skis with a downhill bike? Fabio Wibmer took up the challenge.
To put everything into perspective: The Streif has a slope of 85% in some parts, is 3,3 km long and reaches speeds of 140 km/h. The height difference between the top and the finish is no less than 860 meters.
The Austrian Fabio Wibmer is a professional cyclist who is very handy with any kind of bicycle. This time he climbed on a downhill mountain bike and raced down the Hahnenkamm at a terrifying pace. The video is extremely spectacular and Wibmer enjoys a lot of "airtime", so that it looks like he is on a dirt bike.
