Dakar Rally: Fuel problems for Pablo Quintanilla
Today the 48 hour race in the Dakar Rally will be completed, but it seems to be full of issues due to fuel problems. The stage for cars and trucks was shortened because many teams had questions about the points where they could refuel. They would be too far apart. The distance to be ridden for the motorcycles was maintained, but Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) still ran out.
Quintanilla won the fifth stage yesterday, but was stranded this morning before the first point where refueling was possible. He had to beg from the competition and was able to complete the first part of the 48-hour training course, but lost so much time that a good final ranking may no longer be possible. Yesterday he was listed as 6th in the standings, 26 minutes behind leader Ross Branch.
