Opinion poll MX2: It was Lucas Coenen
Ten days ago we asked our readers to vote for the Belgian who they think has the best chance of winning a world title. The poll was quite a neck and neck race between three riders, but you decided that Negaan Husqvarna Factory rider Lucas Coenen will win the MX2024 title in 2.
Was it wishful thinking or realism? You did the poll with a lot of tension between three drivers and it would have been Simon Laengenfelder (2nd) or Liam Everts (3rd). Kay de Wolf finishes in P4 just ahead of Thibault Benistant. Reigning world champion Andrea Adamo came sixth in the poll, just ahead of Sacha Coenen. You brought up a few more names as potential world champions: They were Camden McLellan (Triumph) and Hakon Østerhagen.
In any case, a race must always be held. We wish all Belgians present in the World Cup and European Championships a fantastic 2024 and that they will sound the Brabançonne en masse. The editors of MXMag wish all our readers a happy end of the year and a healthy and sporty 2024.
