VIDEO: An interview with Tim Gajser
The Slovenian HRC Honda rider Tim Gajser has been in the spotlight in recent years. He is now in a select group of riders who have won five world titles. In addition to Gajser himself, these are Roger De Coster, Eric Geboers, Georges Jobé, Jeffrey Herlings and Joël Smets. Stefan Everts (10), Antonio Cairoli (9) and Joël Robert (6) are the few who did even better.
Gajser was interviewed by American cross-country mountain biker Kate Courtney. In the interview, the Team HRC champion talks about his self-doubt about his return to the sport. In February, Gajser crashed during a spring race in Trentino, resulting in a broken right femur, surgery and a lengthy seven-month recovery that forced him to miss most of the 2023 Motocross World Championship.
Speaking about his return to MXGP after his recovery, Gajser said: “If I said I never doubted myself, I would be lying. Especially when I come back from injury, I can ask myself if I would be able to repeat it (win another championship), or get even better? I try not to think like that because I believe that if you are hungry enough, there is always a way to achieve greater things.”
