Manuel Lettenbichler puts the crown on his work in Getzenrodeo
Six wins from six races! Manuel Lettenbichler of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has claimed victory in the GetzenRodeo, putting the crown on what has been an exceptionally successful 2023 season for him. Mani won all races of the Hard Enduro World Championship this year!
Lettenbichler made his intentions clear on Friday evening by winning the Red Bull Double Trouble prologue, much to the delight of the crowd that lined the course for the entire GetzenRodeo event for two days. On Saturday, Mani continued his dominance by winning the GetzenRace in the morning and then the final of the GetzenChamp.
However, winning the GetzenChamp final was no easy task for Letti. The two riders showed superior sportsmanship alongside nearest rival Billy Bolt, helping each other conquer some of the toughest climbs during the grueling afternoon race, but it was Bolt who led for much of the multi-lap event. In the final 20 minutes, Bolt made a small mistake that allowed Lettenbichler to take the lead – a lead he extended all the way to the finish.
Mani, who reached the checkered flag first, not only completed the perfect event with wins in all three events, but also achieved the perfect season with wins in all six, very different events. From the wet and demanding conditions of the opening round of the Xross Hard Enduro Rally in Serbia to the iconic rock climbs of Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in Austria, Lettenbichler continually showed incredible speed and skill, securing back-to-back FIM Hard Enduro titles.
Manuel Lettenbichler: "That was such a tough race. We had to dig so deep just to keep going. Billy rode really well and there were a few places where we had to help each other. He made a little mistake and that was all it took for me to finally pass him. Then I concentrated and rode as smoothly as possible to the finish. It was such a mega event – the best of the season. The crowd here was wild. All over the course today there wasn't a part where you couldn't hear them, the level of support was insane, and not just for me but for all the riders. It feels great to get six wins in a row and to end my season here at home in Germany."
