TBT: GP Motocross 500cc at Karntenring (AUT) in 2002
For the people who saw the Grand Prix 500cc in Carinthia at the Karntenring in 2002, on TV or in broadcasts, they still know which race it is about. It has also been about 21 years, and an entire generation may have never seen these images!
We are not going to reveal the outcome yet, for that you will have to watch the six-minute Italian-language video. What we can already say is that what you are about to see is a legendary fight between the French star Yves Demaria, who found a whoop-tie-doe section on the churning ring that he knew how to use perfectly, and Stefan Everts! Yves Demaria did not play in the championship for the title due to injury, but after his comeback he had a strong series on his KTM with a fourth place in Teutschenthal (GER), a second place in Saint-Jean d'Angely (FRA) and a grand prix victory in Castiglione, Italy. What would it be like in Austria on KTM's home soil?
