Rossi wins the first round for Valk
The first round during the final of the European 250cc Championship was won by Marc Antione Rossi. The Frenchman wins with a wide lead over Cas Valk and Karlis Reisulis. Kay Karssemakers comes seventh and he loses some points in the battle for second place. Andrea Bonacorsi will not compete in the EMX250, he will start in the MX2 class this weekend.
After his brother's party, Reisulis starts the second heat very strongly. The Latvian takes the lead but quickly sees a Fantic passing by. Valk takes the lead, but just in the first half of the match Rossi passes. The Frenchman then distances himself and wins ahead of Valk and Reisulis. The fast starter is still under pressure by Maxime Grau, but the BT Racing driver has to be satisfied with fourth place. Valerio Lata, in MX2 last week, completes the top five. Karssemakers crosses the finish line in seventh place, while Jens Walvoort manages to take an impressive tenth place. Wesly Dieudonne is the only Belgian who managed to score. Bradley Mesters is back after many injuries and he sends his De Baets-Yamaha to nineteenth place. No points for Nicolas Vennekens (26th), Hugo Buchelot (27th) and Lotte van Drunen (28th). Unfortunately, Ryan de Beer does not reach the finish.
The second round will be held tomorrow at 11.30am, location time. The battle for silver will be between Karssemakers and Valk, the Brabander has a 21 point lead over the rider from Nijverdal.
