Officials wanted during MXGP Arnhem
Most motocross enthusiasts have quite an insight into the technology of dirt bikes. With that in mind, the KNMV started looking for potential new officials during the MXGP of Arnhem who want to help ensure that competitions are fair and safe.
There is a lot to consider when organizing a motorsport event, especially if it takes the form of a World Championship race such as the MXGP. Events like these are highly dependent on the efforts of volunteers, who are needed in all areas. From the KNMV you should think of volunteers who are involved in the running of the competition. This includes flagists, doctors, but also officials including timekeepers and other disciplines. This way the competition is as fair and safe as possible. In this capacity, technical officials also have a major role. They check whether the participants' motorcycles comply with the technical regulations. This is done with an inspection prior to the competition, but also, for example, with a noise measurement afterwards.
Because we can always use more officials, we decided to set up a fun promotion during MXGP: Who can spot the missing parts on our motocross machine that will not pass the technical inspection?
The aim was a nice KNMV goodie bag, but above all a good conversation and explanation about the exciting work that - in this case - is carried out by a technical official! On both Saturday and Sunday, visitors to the MXGP had two chances to win a goodie bag, because we disassembled a part that is essential for safe participation in a race on two occasions. Consider the lock nut of the chain tensioner, the protective cover for the front sprocket or the steering roller. Essential things needed to pass the technical inspection.
In total, almost 600 people took part in our technical inspections. Are you also interested in being involved in motorsport in this way? Then become a KNMV official! You will find all information about this here.
