David Braceras seventh in Sweden
David Braceras of F&H Kawasaki Racing achieved his best result of the season during the Swedish Grand Prix. In the muddy conditions in Uddevalla, he started the first moto around twelfth place. During the race he came forward and with two laps to go he took eighth place. He managed to hold this position until the checkered flag.
In the second moto he got a very good start and finished in a comfortable fourth place. During the heat he had a few difficult laps and lost two places. Braceras recovered and managed to hold on to sixth place until the finish, coming in on the back wheel of the fourth and fifth men! With these results he finished in seventh place in the daily rankings.
David Braceras:
“It was a solid weekend for me. I was very motivated for today because I had a good qualifying heat on Saturday. At the start of the first moto I almost crashed in the first corner, but I came back well during the race to eighth place. In the beginning I rode a bit too cramped, but then I found my rhythm and came back to eighth place. In the second moto I rode in the top five for a long time. Due to a few small mistakes, two riders managed to pass me on the same lap. I tried to get them back but it was difficult. Despite this, I am happy with the progress we have made together and today I achieved my best result in my Grand Prix career.”
Kevin Horgmo started the weekend very well by winning the qualifying heat on Saturday. At the start of the first moto he seemed to have a shot at the holeshot again until the rider next to him completely deviated from his line. Both riders touched each other and the Norwegian had to come back to the front from sixth place. He soon managed to take over fifth place, but it took longer to pass the fourth man. He only succeeded in this on the eleventh lap and managed to hold this position until the finish. In the second moto he managed to get his third holeshot of the season. In the first five laps he managed to hold on to first place, but because he made two small mistakes, he lost two places and fell to third place. A third place was still enough to finish third in the daily standings until his engine started to lose power in the tough conditions, forcing him to leave the race.
Kevin Horgmo:
“I had three good motos here. In two of the three heats I took the holeshot and my riding was good. I was surprised how good the track was after the heavy rainfall we had. However, this made it difficult to overtake. The lines improved towards the end of the first moto and I had the speed, which gave me confidence going into the second moto. I managed to get the holeshot and felt good. However, due to a small mistake, Adamo managed to pass me in a wild way and Laengenfelder was also able to take advantage of this. At that moment I still had control of the stage. I had it under control until the engine unfortunately stopped working. Despite this setback, we have shown that we can compete for the podium."
