Test: The KTM 300SX with TBI injection
The KTM 300 SX is equipped with injection, more specifically with TBI (throttle body injection) and seems to be the ultimate fun bike in the motocross range from Austria. The lower block is that of the 250 SX, but the top is equipped with a cylinder and piston with a bore and stroke of 72 mm.
The TBI injection is one in which two electronically controlled injectors inject fuel into the throttle body, in contrast to the enduro models of the past that were injected via the two flush ports. The power valve is also electronically controlled, which ensures a very smooth response on the track.
The petrol tank therefore contains pre-mix petrol (mixing ratio 1/60 according to KTM's instructions), but otherwise you do not have to worry about jets and other carburetor adjustments, as before: the electronics regulate everything at breakneck speed. One press of the start button and the machine is ready for a test.
