Van der Beek benefits from a start crash and wins in Hummelo
Jenitty van der Beek won the competition in the women's class in Hummelo. After a third place in the first heat, she managed to win the second heat. With this she kept Britt van der Werff behind her on the basis of the second heat. Van der Werff won the first moto and had to make do with third place after a bad start in the second moto. With two second places in the heats, third place went to Amber Simons. Lynn Kelders and Kaylee van Dam completed the top five. In the championship standings, virtually nothing changed in the top five.
First heat
Van der Werff is the fastest ahead of van der Beek, Simons van Dam and Kelders. This put the leading ladies of the heat right at the front. Van der Werff quickly ran away from the rest and would win the heat unthreatened. Behind them, van der Beek and Simons battled for second place. Halfway through the heat, Simons passed van der Beek and she walked away. However, her second place ended up on the scales due to a fall and she ended up behind van der Beek and just ahead of van Dam. This battle was decided in the last round. Simons passed van der Beek again and finished second. Van der Beek came third and Van Dam was in her rear wheel. Kelders saw the checkered flag well behind in fifth place.
Second heat
It was van der Beek who had the best start ahead of Kelders, Maureen Zweers, Sarah Bergsma and Sandra Otten. The start went badly for van der Werff, Simons and van Dam and they were involved in a starting crash. As is often the case with adversity, it did not take long before Simons and van der Werff showed their faces from the front. At the second pass, Simons was already in fourth place and van der Werff was behind him. Simons also took third place one lap later and van der Werff also moved up one place. Here the progress for both ladies came to a standstill until three laps before the checkered flag fell. Kelders now had to let Simons pass first and then van der Werff and the hunt for van der Beek could begin. However, Van der Beek had built up enough of a lead to win the round. Van der Werff was no longer able to catch up with Simons and finished in third place behind Simons. The day's victory based on the second heat also went to van der Beek. Kelders was now 13 seconds behind and took fourth place. Swearers crossed the finish line in fifth place 49 seconds behind.
