Kawasaki unveils all-new KX450
Kawasaki unveils a completely redesigned KX450. More powerful, better handling and more advanced. Ready to dominate the circuit and make you the next champion.
More powerful engine block
The KX450's engine has always been a strong point, but Kawasaki engineers have found a way to make it even more powerful. A downdraft intake layout and symmetrically aligned intake and exhaust provide more power across the entire rev range. The new intake has a much straighter supply of the air-fuel mixture to the cylinder. A centrally located exhaust port, which is aligned with the intake, ensures high airflow efficiency. Linked to the powerful engine are a hydraulic clutch, electric starter and launch control. All three proven features for better track performance.
Power Modes and Traction Control
The new KX450 is the first KX model with Power modes and Kawasaki Traction Control. The Mode button on the left handlebar allows riders to quickly and easily switch between two engine mappings (Normal and Mild response) stored in the ECU, which riders can adjust via their smartphone. The Traction Control is also easy to select using a button on the left handlebar. Riders can choose from Weak, Strong or disable the system.
Frame
The new frame accommodates the intake and exhaust system updates. The optimized stiffness balance contributes to better front-end feel, which translates into better handling on a wide range of circuits.
Remmen
The upgraded braking components include cross-drilled Braking/Sunstar discs (ø270/240 mm) mated to a Brembo brake caliper and master cylinder at the front and a Nissin brake caliper and master cylinder at the rear. The powerful system gives more control over the brakes, which contributes to an improvement in corner entry.
body work
Newly designed fairing parts, side covers and rear fenders are sturdier and fit together even better, making it even easier for the rider to move. The side covers can be removed without tools for easy access to the air filter.
Rideology App
With RIDEOLOGY KX app, riders can easily access their KX450's engine mappings. For example, fuel supply and ignition timing can be adjusted via a smartphone and maintenance logs can be viewed.
The 2024 KX450 will be available this fall at the official Kawasaki dealer. Prices will be announced later. For more information or to find a dealer near you, visit www.kawasaki.be.
