Bax/Cermak win first GP heat in Brou!
Bax/Cermak took their first World Cup heat victory in 2023. With a head-to-head victory, they remained the boss in Brou-France. We saw Vanluchene/Musset in second place and Hermans/Van den Boogaart came third.
Bax took the holeshot with Vandaele on the inside, who pushed too hard in the mud and hit Vanluchene. Vanluchene was able to continue, but the mele that followed brought several sidecars to a standstill, including Vandaele, Wijers and qualifying winner Wilkinson. At the front it was Bax with Prumer/Steegmans in second place, but this did not last long. Vanluchene quickly got over Prumer and started chasing Bax. The enthusiastic audience, clearly in favor of Vanluchene and his French baking player Musset, shouted wildly, but it was just not really an attack. Bax ultimately became the winner with Vanluchene in second place. Prumer was in third for a long time with the oncoming Hermans and Prunier brothers in the neck. Prunier had to let go and finished fifth at the finish. Prumer kept the constantly present Hermans at bay for a long time, but a few minutes before the end Hermans took third place and drove away from Prumer to take a solid third place. Prumer/Steegmans finished fourth and the French Prunier fifth. Wilkinson/Millard had a great catch-up race and finished sixth from the back.
