Jeremy Van Horebeek makes a comeback at Standing Construct Honda
In a surprising twist, Jeremy Van Horebeek has decided to return from motocross retirement and make a comeback in the MXGP World Championship. “The Jerre” will replace the injured Pauls Jonass with the Standing Construct Honda team from the GP in Teutschenthal, Germany.
Van Horebeek, who made an important contribution to the development of the Beta engines over the last two seasons, only hung up his helmet last year. After a successful career in which he even managed to win the title of vice world champion in 2014, it seemed that his time as a professional motocross rider had come to an end. However, the injury of Pauls Jonass (who suffered a torn ligament) offered him an opportunity that he could not resist, meaning that “The Jerre” will return to the highest level after a short break.
Next weekend's GP of Latvia comes too early for Van Horebeek, who will have an extra week to find his old speed!
