Sexton wins, Webb and Tomac next to podium
In Atlanta, Chase Sexton won the thirteenth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX. The Honda rider rides a strong final and takes an important victory ahead of Justin Barcia and Ken Roczen. Cooper Webb (4th) and Eli Tomac (5th) remain off the podium, reducing the points difference between the top three to 17 points!
The best start goes to Jason Anderson, but the Kawasaki rider goes wide in the first corner, causing Roczen to pass on the inside. Sexton also passes and in the second corner the Honda rider takes the lead. Anderson sees Baria pass quickly and is later attacked by Webb and Tomac. In the second half of the race, Barcia puts the pressure on his Roczen and the Suzuki rider loses second place. Barica is still trying to catch up with leader Sexton, but he is not surprised and controls the race over 20 minutes and a lap. The HRC driver completes the party. Tomac of course tries to displace Webb from fourth place, but the KTM rider does not let that happen and thus reduces his deficit to six points.
Next week the points will be distributed in East Rutherford.
