Prize money in the USA has increased significantly
Due to the arrival of the FIM Supercross World Championship, the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship has significantly increased their prize pool. Especially in the 250SX class, the schedule was improved for the motocross riders. Previously, the 250SX winner received 3350 US Dollars in prize money, from this year it will be 6000 US Dollars. The winner of the 450SX final will take home 14.000 US Dollars, up from 12.000 US Dollars until last year.
Placing for the evening program is also well rewarded, a 450SX rider earns at least 1.250 US Dollars while the lightest class can be paid out at least 1.000 US Dollars. The prize money is especially interesting for private drivers and teams, who can recoup part of the costs. For the top riders, the prize money is good for their personal budget because they are already well paid by their team/employer through money from the motorcycle brand and personal sponsorship contracts.
