Hot: Ken Roczen chooses yellow!
After a period in which the German was free as a bird to test with almost every brand, the bullet has now been confirmed. Ken Roczen will start the AMA Supercross on January 7 with a Suzuki.
Roczen has been in the news in recent months. First there was the break with HRC Honda, then he won the Supercross world title on a private Honda, tested a Yamaha, a Kawasaki, a Suzuki and an electric Stark. The latter does not yet have permission from the AMA and was quickly dropped as a candidate.
Just last week there was news about a doping test that Roczen allegedly refused during the Supercross in Australia (editor's note: the test was indeed taken, but the result is not yet known). Due to the fuss surrounding this drug test, a possible agreement with the KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas group would have gone up in smoke. Today was D-day and Roczen signed an agreement with HEP Suzuki.
Ken Roczen: “I am beyond excited to reconnect with Suzuki for the 3rd time in my career. We have had great success in the past and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in our future. I have a lot of confidence in Suzuki and the H.E.P. Motorsports program and I'm excited to finally start the new year with a fresh start. From the moment I got on the bike I immediately felt at home. It was a welcome surprise how quickly I adapted to the bike and the team. We will be ready to go racing on January 7.”
