Lucas Coenen in MX2 next year with Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing
The young Belgian Lucas Coenen has signed a contract with the Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing Team. He will compete in the MX2 class next year on a Husqvarna FC 250.
Coenen is one of the greatest talents in Europe. As a fifteen-year-old, he won seven of the eight final heats in the EMX250 class and finished second in the final standings. It was an impressive spell on his FC 250 and such potential will be nurtured under the awning of Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing. Today it was announced that his brother Sacha will race for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team next year.
With Lucas Coenen, Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing will have an exciting trio in the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship. Kay de Wolf and Roan van de Moosdijk enter the new period, which starts with the Grand Prix of Patagonia-Argentina on March 12, with title aspirations .
Lucas Coenen: “I am very excited to join Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing for the 2023 season! To start my MX2 career with a brand as prestigious as Husqvarna is an honor and I can't wait to see what I can do on my FC 250.”
Rasmus Jorgensen (Nestan Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager): “Adding Lucas Coenen to Negaan Husqvarna Factory Racing is exciting for all of us; he was so impressive in the EMX250 class earlier this year and already on a Husqvarna. I am very proud of the Husqvarna brand, and it is very meaningful to continue writing this story together! 2023 will be a great year for the team. Kay and Roan are very motivated to put the unfortunate season of 2022 behind them and have their sights set on 2023. We are counting down to round one!”
