Broken collarbone for Julian Veldman!
Sidecar cross rider Julian Veldman has broken his collarbone after a crash in qualifying for the GP in Estonia. An ugly line for team Veldman/Janssens, who before this weekend were still fully in contention for the World Championship and ONK Sidecar Cross title.
Veldman/Janssens crashed out of the qualifying match in Estonia early on, while in the top 3. It immediately became clear that the situation around Veldman was serious. A collapsed lung and a fracture in the collarbone, among other things, resulted in a trip to the hospital. The first diagnosis is that fortunately the damage to the lung appears to be minor. However, the collarbone is broken in two places and a quick recovery therefore does not seem possible.
Missing the Estonian GP tomorrow and the next ONK sidecar on the program on July 17 means an ugly blow to the title aspirations of Veldman/Janssens.
MXmag wishes Veldman a speedy recovery.
