No Jed Beaton in Kegums
Jed Beaton of the F&H Kawasaki Racing Team will not compete in the Latvian round of the FIM MXGP World Championship this weekend in order to recover faster from a shoulder injury he suffered last month. The Australian damaged his left shoulder in a crash during the second round of the championship in Mantova, Italy.
Despite the discomfort and lack of strength in his shoulder, he has shown perseverance and determination in the intermediate rounds of the series to defend a top-twelve finish. With no significant improvement in sight while he continues to strain his shoulder, rider and team have jointly decided not to participate in the GP in Kegums this weekend.
It is not known whether he will miss more races, but if necessary, several races will be canceled. A decision regarding the resumption of a full training program and return to racing will be made in conjunction with the best medical advice.
Nathalie Fase (F&H team manager): “Unfortunately, Jed still has too much trouble with his shoulder after the crash in Mantova on March 6. We will soon receive the results of last week's hospital check and we can look further from there. We want to rule out any complications, not take unnecessary risks and wait until everything is clear before Jed starts driving again; the goal is to come back strong as quickly as possible. “
Jed Beaton: “It is frustrating to be sidelined this weekend, but the team and myself have made a mutual decision to have things checked further and come back when we can achieve the results we are looking for; It's obviously a tough pill to swallow, but I'm looking forward to coming back as strong as I was at the opening GP! “
