Kevin Saar dominates in Markelo
Kevin Saar dominated the first race of the European Quad Championship in Markelo. The Estonian managed to win all three heats. The Yamaha rider won the race ahead of Joe Maessen (2-3-2) and Rick Haverdil (3-4-5). The big absentees during this match are the Belgians!
First heat
Maessen takes the best start in the first round ahead of Saar and the Norwegian Christopher Tveraen. The reigning champion then takes over the lead from Maessen, who then comes under pressure from Tveraen. However, the Norwegian gets a flat tire, which means that Maessen is no longer in danger of second place. Haverdil crosses the finish line in third place ahead of Marc de Vries and Joakim Granli.
Second heat
Haverdil reacts best during the start of the second heat. Saar follows and now he quickly takes over the lead. Maessen and Tveraen then also manage to pass Haverdil, who crosses the finish line in fourth. Tveraen manages to pass Maessen later in the race, placing him second ahead of the leader in the ONK. Just like the first heat, Granli completes the top five.
Third heat
The last round of the weekend is the Maessen with the best start for the Pole Gwiazda and Saar. Things immediately get heated and Gwiazda sees Saar and Tveraen passing by. The latter even manages to pass Saar a little later, but he quickly recovers and starts the attack on leader Maessen. The new leader then breaks free and wins the third round with a wide lead. Maessen manages to keep Tveraen behind him and the Limburger comes second ahead of the fast Norwegian. Ricardo Phoelich crosses the finish line in a respectable fourth place because Gwiazfda runs into problems four laps before the finish. Haverdil crosses the finish line in fifth place, meaning he can climb onto the podium next to Saar and Maessen at MC Ons Genoegen!
This championship will take place at the Loket circuit next month.
