“It was just another day”
There was Dutch success in Fjerritslev, but there were also riders whose day went less smoothly. Jayson van Drunen had a tough weekend on the Danish sand circuit. The Eindhoven resident did not score in the first round, but in the second round the Yamaha rider finished tenth, scoring ten points. Here is the story of Marcel van Drunen's son.
Jayson van Drunen:
“Everything went well on Saturday and I managed to set the third fastest time without much effort. That gives confidence about the speed. But the first start was a drama. I came out of the first corner last. And in the fourth corner I hit another rider and we crashed together. The engines were stuck together and then I couldn't get the engine out of gear to start it. The gear lever had had a knock but I didn't know that, so I couldn't get it to neutral. And that made it very difficult to start. With about 40 seconds behind I finally started the race. 26th place doesn't mean anything, but dad always says try to keep driving. The start in the second moto was also not good and I wanted to go behind the field to the inside bend. There was almost a traffic jam there so that plan didn't work either. I came back from last place to tenth place. The driving was good, but everything was disappointing, which became very frustrating. Now let's focus on Lommel again and Let's hope for better days”
