Mulders/de Let triumph in Berghem
For the second time this season, the sidecar nationals/inters were allowed to choose a place behind the starting gate at the MON last Sunday. At Circuit Nieuw Zevenbergen it was Frank Mulders/Lars de Laat who were the strongest. The duo took the lead from the start in both heats and never relinquished it. Second place went to Patrick Greup/Marc van Deutekom with two second places in the heats. Frans van Rooij/Haske Maas received the cup for third place with two third place finishes in the heats.
In the national sidecar class, first place went to Bjorn van den Heuij/Sten van den Heuij. After the heat victory in the first heat, a second place in the second heat was enough. Max Bevers/Tayim Kaethoven finished second. After a third place in the first heat, the duo managed to win the second heat. Boyd Verhees/Niklas Hotze were able to take their place on the lowest step of the podium with a second and third place in the heat.
First heat
It was Mulders/de Laat who were the fastest way ahead of Greup/van Deutekom and van Rooij/Maas. Behind this came the nationals Verhees/Hotze, Bevers/Kaethoven and van den Heuij/van den Heuij. Differences were quickly made at the inters. Mulders/de Laat were ahead of Greup/van Deutekom on each lap and van Rooij/Maas could not keep up with the pace of the front two and quickly fell far behind. At the Nationals, Bevers/Kaethoven was quickly passed by van den Heuij/van den Heuij. In the second part of the heat, Verhees/Hotze also had to suffer and van den Heuij/van den Heuij won the heat in this class.
Second heat
It was again Mulders/de Laat who was the fastest, followed by Bevers/Kaethoven, van Rooij/Maas, Denise van Dommelen/Sven van Dommelen and Rick van Loosbroek/John van Loosbroek. Greup/van Deutekom and Verhees/Hotze had a bad start, with the latter even rolling over. It didn't even get that far for Leopold Lenaerts/Sebastiaan Lenaerts. They were left behind in the trap with an engine that could no longer be started. Greup/van Deutekom quickly managed to repair the necessary damage and finished fourth at the finish line. Van den Heuij/van den Heij had already passed van Dommelen/van Domelen and came in fifth. Mulders/de Laat quickly opened a big gap and were able to ride to victory unthreatened. Greup/van Deutekom passed Rooij/Maas in the third lap and then had a difficult time with Bevers/Kaethoven. During an overtaking attempt, Greup/van Deutekom ended up slightly wrong and the engine even stopped for a moment. Once again they managed to overtake Bevers/van Kaethoven and three laps before the finish they passed Bevers/Kaethoven. However, Mulders/de Laat had already disappeared on the horizon and places one and two were the same as in the first round. Bevers/Kaethoven crowned a strong round with third place overall and thus won the round at the nationals. Fourth place went to van Rooij/Maas and fifth place (second at nationals) was enough for van den Heuij/van den Heuij to win the day at nationals.
