Bax/Musset on World Cup title race with victory in the 2nd heat in Oss
Bax/Musset won the 2nd heat during the GP Sidecars in Oss. Vanluchene/Bax came second and Hermans/Janssens third. Bax/Musset thus take a three-point lead in the World Cup standings over Vanluchene/Bax. Veldman/Cermak finished fourth and remain third in the World Cup standings, but no longer have anything in their hands.
There is a front start in front of thousands of spectators in Oss for Keuben/Rietman, but title candidates Vanluchene/Bax and Bax/Musset are quickly passed by. Veldman/Cermak, the other title candidate, is fifth going into the second round.
In the fourth lap, Keuben drops from third place and Van Werven, Veldman and Hermans move up one place. Bax then puts all the heat on Vanluchene for the lead in the race and the World Cup standings.
Right in front of the sponsorhome of the team, Bax/Musset manage to position the sidecar inside and cross the table mountain in the air past Vanluchene/Bax, with Musset barely remaining in the box. The fans present catch their breath for a moment, but the stuff takes the lead nicely.
That same lap, Veldman takes over third place from Van Werven and Veldman/Cermak chases the leaders, but they are already far away.
Not much later, Hermans/Janssens take fourth place from Van Werven. Team Hermans seems unleashed and exactly on the same table mountain where Bax took the lead earlier, a few laps later Hermans/Janssens take third place from Veldman/Cermak. At the front, Vanluchene/Bax are initially able to keep up with leaders Bax/Musset, but in the last ten minutes of the race the leaders are visibly running away from their pursuers. Bax/Musset deservedly win the second heat in Oss, ahead of Vanluchene/Bax on second, Hermans/Janssens on three, Veldman/Cermak on four and Van Werven/Van den Boogaart on five.
In the World Cup standings, Bax/Musset now have the lead with 242 points, ahead of Vanluchene/Bax with 239 points. Veldman/Cermak in third place no longer have everything in hand with 232 points and have to hope for a small miracle to still have a chance at the title. The third heat will be decisive. Vanluchene/Bax also no longer have control over everything. If Vanluchene/Bax win in the last heat and team Bax/Musset come second, they will be equal in World Cup points. The most heat wins in 2021 will then be looked at, in which case Bax/Musset will take the World title.
