EMX65 silver for Dex van den Broek
With a third and first place, Dex van den Broek took second place in the European 65cc Championship. The rider from Deurne finished second behind Lucas Leok (1-2), who took the title to Estonia. The podium is completed by Viktor Leppälä (2-3). Despite missing direct qualification, Jenairo Beerens was still allowed to take action and the Limburger did not disappoint with fifth place!
1e some
The sprint to the first corner is won by Moritz Ernecker, followed by Leppälä and Andrea Uccellini. There is a crash in the first corner and Van den Broek narrowly avoids this, leaving him outside the top ten out of the first corner! On the first lap, Leppälä takes the lead from the Austrian, who sees Leok pass a little later. Van den Broek passed four riders in one move in the second corner and he comes out of the first lap in fourth position. In the first full lap, Leok takes the lead and Van den Broek tries to take over third place from Michal Psiuk. The Pole does not give up easily, Van den Broek needs two laps to take third place. Beerens has now risen from tenth place to fifth place. At the front, leader Leok has a lead of more than four seconds over Leppälä and Van den Broek is battling for second place. Through this duel they both manage to catch up with Aigar Leok's son, but he sees the danger. Leppälä manages to keep Van den Broek behind him and the Finn comes second ahead of Van den Broek. Psiuk rides a lonely race after losing sight of the top three, but the Pole finishes fourth ahead of Beerens. Kenzo Jaspers scores thanks to fifteenth place. Unfortunately there are no points for Chento van Zoest (23rd) and Teunis Spijkerman (25th).
2e some
When the starting gate falls for the second time, Van den Broek immediately shows that he does not want to be surprised. The 11-year-old Brabander takes the lead ahead of Ernecker and Leok. Áron Katona, the world champion in this class, now starts the race much better, but he collides with a colleague and falls. Leppälä started sixth but quickly managed to work his way up to third place, six seconds behind the leader. Van den Broek is the leader and he will no longer relinquish his leadership. Second place is enough for Leok and seems to be satisfied with that. Van den Broek wins the heat with a thirteen second lead over Leok. Viktor Leppälä misses the connection in the first round and has to be satisfied with third place ahead of Psiuk. In the first heat, Sleny Goyer got into trouble on the last lap, but now the Frenchman finished fifth. Beerens finishes seventh after a poor start. Jaspers is again fifteenth and Van Mechgelen is now in the points in 17th place. Van Zoest (22nd) and Spijkerman (26th) did not score but gained a special experience.
