Bax/Musset win the first heat in Oss!
Bax/Musset have won the spectacular first heat of the Dutch Sidecar Masters in Oss. Hermans/Janssens came second just after Bax/Musset and Veldman/Cermak came in third.
There was a spectacle right at the start when Willemsen seemed to take the lead but dived just too hard into the first corner and lost his French driver Lebraton! This was grist to the mill for the Bax and Hermans teams, who were the first to start the match on the inside. Willemsen/Lebraton were fortunately able to continue the heat later and even finished eleventh. At the front it was Bax/Musset, Hermans/Janssens and Vanluchene/Bax who immediately opened a gap to the rest. After two rounds, Vanluchene/Bax dropped from third place and this position was eventually filled by Veldman/Cermak. Veldman/Cermak had started sixth but quickly caught the sidecars in front of them and ended up in third place. This is how Veldman/Cermak would ultimately finish because no one was a match for the two sidecars at the front in this heat, who managed to gain a lead of tens of seconds. The battle at the front became very exciting when Hermans/Janssens were able to come directly behind Bax/Musset in the last two laps. They just couldn't really attack and so Bax/Musset took the win with Hermans/Janssens in second place behind them. Veldman/Cermak then finished third in no man's land with the well-driving Keuben/Debruyne in fourth and Leferink/Beleckas in fifth.
