Bax/Musset win ONK Sidecar Masters Oss!
Bax/Musset also won the 2nd heat of the ONK Sidecar Masters in Oss and, together with their victory in the first heat, also took full points and the day's win in Oss! Veldman/Cermak came 3rd in the last heat and this was enough to take 2nd place in the daily results. Van Werven/Van den Boogaart finished third overall. Hermans/Janssens, until today fighting neck and neck for the title battle together with Bax/Musset, dropped out in the leading position in the 2nd round and did not score!
Hermans/Janssens grabbed the holeshot at the start of the second heat and were the first to climb the Witte Ruysheuvel with Bax/Musset right behind. Vanluchene/Bax, Veldman/Cermak and Willemsen/Lebraton also got off to a good start. Hermans/Janssens were constantly followed directly by Bax/Musset and together these leading two sidecars had a big lead over the rest of the field after fifteen minutes of driving. The large crowd present at that moment expected a fierce battle for not only the heat victory but also the day's result and the overall Dutch title battle in which team Hermans and team Bax were involved. However, Hermans/Janssens had to give up Maarten due to gearbox failure! A big blow for Hermans/Janssens, who can now only hope for the Dutch title during the last ONK in Varsseveld on October 25.
With the loss of Hermans, there was nothing to prevent Bax/Musset from winning the second heat with flying colors. Behind Bax/Musset it was Vanluchene/Bax who would then come in second at a distance. After their failure earlier in the day, Vanluchene/Bax played no further role in the final result in Oss. Veldman/Cermak did that and, just like earlier today, took third place. Two solid third finishes today in Oss were enough for second place in the day's results. Van Werven/Van den Boogaart finished fourth and this was just enough to eventually climb to the last place on the day's podium.
The final of the ONK Sidecar Masters is on October 25 in Varsseveld, where Bax/Musset can actually only be prevented from winning the title by bad luck.
