Vandaele/Smeuninx win Belgian Championship Sidecar Cross Rijkevorsel!
Jason Vandaele and Tim Smeuninx have surprisingly won the Belgian Sidecar Cross Championships in Rijkevorsel. Vanluchene/Bax in second and Janssens/Gorris in third completed the day's podium.
In the first heat, Vanluchene/Bax managed to finish first, with Vandaele/Smeuninx in second place and Van der Schraelen/Mans finishing third.
The second heat had a spectacular outcome for the win. Vandaele/Smeuninx had started from the lead and Vanluchene/Bax quickly launched an attack on the lead. Whatever they tried, the experienced Vandaele/Smeuninx kept a cool head. Vanluchene/Bax simply didn't get by. Vandaele/Smeuninx surprisingly took home the heat win and also took the day's victory in Rijkevorsel! Vanluchene/Bax came second and thus also second in the daily total. Van der Schraelen/Mans, on course for the day's podium, dropped out due to equipment failure. This cleared the way for Janssens/Gorris to take third place in the second heat and on the day's podium after finishing fifth in the first heat.
