Pauls Jonass about his MXGP podium
After about 23 months, Pauls Jonass was back on the podium yesterday during the Belgian Grand Prix. The Latvian showed very well at the Lommel circuit and finished third behind Romain Febvre and Jeffrey Herlings. The GasGas driver tells his story here and teammate Brian Bogers also has his say.
Paul's Jonass:
''Just awesome! There are so many positives for me today. My first podium at the GasGas, the first time I led for long laps in MXGP and my first podium of the season. After the race in Loket we pressed the reset button and made a number of changes to the engine. This really helped me with the starts. Together with the team we have made good progress for this competition and they deserve this podium place. Today's riding gives me a lot of confidence for my home GP and I can't wait to get on track there and ride in front of my own fans. It will be great.''
Brian Bogers:
"It was a good day for me, not spectacular, but I did score twice. It was tough today! I finished eleventh in both heats, putting me tenth in the overall standings. I rode my own lines in both heats and I really enjoyed it with that crowd next to the track. Obviously I wanted better results but I did my best. With a tenth place in the daily rankings, I achieved a lot of points and it was also a good day for me and the team."
