Mick Kennedy takes revenge in Slovakia
After the first race of the European 85cc North-West Championship ended in a major setback, Mick Kennedy has recovered well. In Velke Uhere the KTM rider managed to finish second behind a very strong Vitezslav Marek. Thanks to this strong performance in Slovakia, the South Hollander now occupies tenth place in the standings. The 13-year-old Motocross AAD rider looks back on his race last Sunday.
Mick Kennedy:
“I knew the circuit, we have driven an EMX65 here before. The training went well straight away and I felt confident. After sixth place in qualifying, this only increased further. A good start would be important but the position at the starting gate was good. I got away reasonably well in the first heat, but the battle is very intense. The differences are minimal and overtaking is difficult on this circuit. I was satisfied with seventh place, but I wanted more! The start of the second heat was very good, I am immediately in the leading group and that makes it a lot easier. The driving also went very well and I am very happy with that second place. Now we will try to finish the job in the Czech Republic so that we can go to the final.”
