Podium for Coenen bros in Castelnau-de-Levis
Lucas and Sacha Coenen (9MM Bud Racing Kawasaki) were on the podium again this afternoon in the French championship. Although they both won one series, Sacha and Lucas had to settle for 6th and 8th place after a penalty in the first race.
Lead starter Lucas Coenen was followed by brother Sacha and Killian Vincent in the first round. Halfway through the race, Sacha Coenen took over command. He seemed to be heading for the series victory with Alexis Fueri and Sacha Coenen behind him. Although she also crossed the finish line in that order, the first three riders received a five-place penalty for ignoring the yellow flag. Xavier Cazal (VHR KTM) was given the victory
In the second heat Lucas Coenen proved his worth. He not only grabbed the holeshot but also led from start to finish ahead of Sacha Coenen. The reigning French 85cc champion had to allow 7,5 seconds. The number 3, Xavier Cazal, crossed the finish line more than 25 seconds behind.
In the standings, Lucas takes over the lead in the French 125cc championship from his twin brother Sacha Coenen. Cazal follows Lucas Coenen on 8 points.
