Jordi Van Mieghem about his tumbling in Wachtebeke
Brother Arno Van Mieghem narrowly missed the podium in the MX1 during the first BC round last Sunday. For Jordi Van Mieghem (Ampro Racing MX) Wachtebeke was a race to quickly forget! In the first moto Jordi had a hard crash, which forced a restart. Fortunately, his injuries don't seem too bad.
On Monday, the former Turnhout resident visited the hospital in Herekntals. The verdict was a serious concussion and two pieces of broken cartilage in the elbow. “It's actually not that bad. They cannot do anything about the damage in the elbow and of course you are stiff everywhere after such a hit," said Van Mieghem.
“It's nice to receive messages from so many people after such an incident. It says something about the cross being one community. In any case, I'm looking forward to riding again soon. After a week or two of rest, the doctor said I could start normally again. But I want to start riding again as soon as possible, as soon as the pain is too bad, I will start riding again!” the DC MX school pilot concludes belligerently.
