Amandine Verstappen starts strong
The Belgian Amandine Verstappen 9MM Bud Racing Kawasaki left a strong impression this weekend in Plomion during the first round of the French WMX championship. She dominated with superiority in both heats. Amandine won with a 45-second lead over Virginie Germond in race 1. In the reprise, she crossed the line with a 25-second bonus over veteran Jessie Joineau.
For Verstappen, success with our southern neighbors has been nothing new for a long time. In 2019 and 2020 she won all heats. After two French titles, she mainly wants to advance in the World Cup for women this season. Two years ago, the 22-year-old from Liège finished fourth there. The WMX championship, which is decided over 5 rounds, does not start until July 25 in the Czech Loket.
