MX Master Plan Update – March 12
In three weeks we will take an important step for the MXmasterplan with the introduction of the payment system for free training. In the meantime, we are of course not sitting still in the background: we want to get started at the clubs as quickly as possible! Discussions are already planned with various provinces and municipalities. It is already clear that the active attitude from the cross world is highly appreciated. And that offers perspective for the future!
App
Since the previous update, important steps have been taken to ensure that the introduction and implementation of the payment system runs smoothly. An update of the KNMV license app is ready. As a rider, you can pay the two euros for the master plan from April 1, after you have first registered with a club for training. Then, as always, report to the club and you can hit the track. We will soon explain in detail exactly how it will work.
Expert group
An expert group has been set up for a number of important issues within the plan, with representatives on behalf of clubs and riders and other specialists. This group consists of:
– Camiel van Berkesteijn (KNMV association office/chairman)
– Pepijn de Haan (secretary MC Delfcross)
– Harry van Haren (expert in municipal and provincial procedures)
– Wim Mulder (member KNMV Supervisory Board)
– Koen Pijpers (vice-chairman of MON)
– Joost Ruiterkamp (license holder)
– Frans Schermer (Peutz consultancy)
You can find more information about the members of the expert group here. The expert group is working on…
– a distribution key: which club receives which contribution and for what purpose?
– prioritization: which clubs should we work with first?
– a compensation scheme: money flows back to clubs that have already invested in legalization, safety and/or sustainability for costs previously incurred.
The proposals and advice from the expert group are submitted to the board for a final decision.
Good luck in Halle
After a grueling six-year process, Halmac in Halle, together with consultancy firm Peutz and the KNMV, recently managed to obtain a renewed permit. Find out how that happened here. The battle of the Halmac shows how important it is that we, as a cross world, put our shoulders to the wheel together: 'If we do NX, then MX will disappear!'
A new update will follow next week. In the meantime, you are always welcome with questions, input and criticism via sport@knmv.nl.
Yours faithfully,
Camiel van Berkesteijn
KNMV Sports technical manager
