Steffi Laier quits WMX!
The German fast lady announced last night on her Instagram that she is quitting motocross at the highest level. Steffi Laier will no longer be seen in the WMX next year. Laier is a great lady because she has amassed a long list of titles. Her four world titles are of course eye-catching, but she won much more.
From now on, Steffi will again focus on riding the Enduro motorcycle.
Steffi Laier: "It's time I told you what I decided. I want you to know that I will not be riding in the world championship again. In these difficult and uncertain times, it is difficult to make the necessary efforts to participate. I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve and won everything it was possible to win: 4x World Champion, FIM European Champion, AMA-WMA American Champion, 2x IMBA European Champion, 2x Czech Champion, Dutch Champion, German Champion, Belgian National MX2 Champion, European Enduro Champion, German Enduro Champion and awarded the FIM Motorsport Woman of the Year Award.
My main goal is to ride enduros again, I haven't decided yet which championships that will be. Since everything has been/was largely cancelled, I have been riding a lot with MTB and testing Enduro bikes. I had a lot of fun and that's why I decided to participate in Enduro events. Thank you to all the helpers, friends, patrons and especially to my sponsors for their great support over the years! I will always be grateful! I hope you will support me on this journey too. "
