Mulders/de Laat supreme in Berghem
Anyone who would have thought that there would be a nice field of participants at the start of the sidecars in Berghem would have been disappointed. Despite the fact that there was no ONK or NK competition on the KNMV programme, only nine combinations took the trouble to travel to Berghem for a MON competition. After training, the duo Marcel van Wanrooij/Brian van Wanrooij was eliminated, leaving eight combinations. In the inters sidecar class, three combinations appeared at the start. Frank Mulders/Lars de Laat were supreme in both heats and took the day's victory with a full 120 points. Patrick Greup/Jake Looijen achieved second place in the daily rankings with two second places. They in turn kept Jeroen Visscher/Eva Visscher comfortably behind them.
In the national sidecar class there was more competition to be seen. Koen Grondman/Rick Grondman won the first round, but had to leave the day's victory to Bjorn van den Heuij/Sten van den Heij based on the second round. In the battle for third place in this class, John van Loosbroek/Rick van Loosbroek were ahead of the Belgian duo Leopold Lenaerts/Sebastiaan Lenaerts. The second Belgian duo Erwin Mogal. Michael Verburgh dropped out in the first moto with bad luck and did not start in the second moto.
