Vialle doubles, Geerts suffers a serious defeat!
Last Sunday, Jago Geerts managed to make up points on Tom Vialle. Today the tables were turned as the Frenchman significantly increased his lead! After seven races, the KTM rider has a 21 point lead over Geerts. Vialle wins both heats and takes his third GP victory of the season. Maxime Renaux (2-4) comes second today ahead of Thomas Kjer Olsen (4-3). Geerts is fourth in the daily rankings, making him by far the best Laaglander. Roan van de Moosdijk only scores in the second round and that also applies to Nathan Renkens.

Despite inferior qualifying training, it is Vialle with the best start for Geerts, Guadagnini, Renaux and Bailey Malkiewicz. Things go wrong for Van de Moosdijk in the first round, he collides with Simon Langenfelder and Mikkel Haarup. At the front, Guadagnini manages to work his way into the leading position and the Italian manages to hold that position for almost 14 minutes. Vialle's deficit briefly increased to three seconds, but the World Cup leader returns and takes Renaux and Geerts with him. The first attack Vialle uses succeeds and he takes over the lead. The Yamaha riders then have to get past the Maddii Racing rider. That takes more time than expected and that is to Vialle's advantage. He manages to build a lead of more than four seconds, after which he is never in danger again. Renaux is fiercely attacked by Geerts, but last Sunday's winner comes second ahead of Geerts. TKO manages to pass Mathys Boisrame in the battle for fourth place. The Dane finally scores well again and Boisrame completes the top five. Van de Moosdijk has to leave with damage to his machine, while Renkens (25th) and Genot (26th) also fail to score.

Vialle is also the best starter in the second heat, he takes the lead ahead of Geerts, Renaux, Jed Beaton and Ruben Fernandez. Beaton briefly manages to take over third place from Renaux, but then Boisrame arrives. He passes the Australian and puts the pressure on Geerts. The Balenaar has to hurry so that they both make up time on the leader. Then the KEMEA Racing rider makes a mistake and crashes, losing many places and points. In the final phase, Boisrame made a mistake and that gave Beaton second place ahead of teammate Kjer Olsen. Renaux finished fourth ahead of compatriot Stephen Rubuni. Geerts finished ninth while Van de Moosdijk returned to thirteenth after a crash in the early stages. Renkens scores points by finishing eighteenth, Genot is again unable to score.
This championship will continue next Wednesday, again at the Faenza circuit.
