No Coupe de l'Avenir this year!
Today we received the unfortunate news that there will be no Coup de l'Avenir this year. It was normally scheduled for the weekend of October 3 and 4. Due to the calendar changes of the MXGP, the race coincided with the MXGP in Trentino, making it no longer possible to organize.
The organization announced this today via social media: “We were afraid that we would have to announce it, but since Infront Moto Racing has moved the GP, EMX250 and 2T to October 3 and 4 in Trentino, we are forced to postpone the Coupe de l 'Avenir 2020 to be cancelled. The riders involved in the European Championship will not be able to represent their country at our event and as we cannot move the date we have no other solution.”
“The Motocross Club Hauts-Pays can fortunately count on the manager and the foreign delegations. We are therefore looking forward to welcoming a strong group of young foreign drivers for the 2021th Coupe de l'Avenir in Quiévrain in early October 49. In these difficult times, take care of yourself and your family!”
From Jago Geerts to Jeffrey Herlings to Jeremy Van Horebeek and Glenn Coldenhoff, a whole generation of today's top athletes helped write the history of the Coupe de l'Avenir! Check out a nice recap by 393 Productions of the 2018 edition below.
