Corona crisis: Supercross promoter Feld lays off 90% of workers
Due to the increasing spread of COVID-19, Monster Energy AMA Supercross promoter Feld Entertainment was previously forced to postpone part of the championship until further notice. Although the last two rounds will remain on the World Supercross calendar for the time being, Feld Entertainment is also heavily affected by the Corona crisis with other events.
Feld Entertainment, which specializes in all kinds of live shows, also had to cancel Monster Jam, Disney on Ice, Jurassic World Live and Marvel Universe Live shows due to the measures to combat the Coronavirus. Due to the uncertainty about the date when shows can resume, Feld Entertainment had to lay off a large portion of its employees.
In total, the Florida company would according to Fox13news let go of almost 90% of its employees. In total, it is estimated that there are about 900 of the 1200 employees. Whether this is also an indication of a cancellation of the last two AMA Supercross rounds is not yet known. The possibility of completing one or more rounds after the end of the regular outdoor season is also reportedly being studied. To be continued!
