Injury update Julien Lieber
JM Honda Racing Julien Lieber (25) was one of the few big names to miss the opening round of the Motocross World Championship in Matterley Basin. The talented Belgian experienced too much discomfort in his left wrist and successfully underwent minor surgery in AZ Herentals today.
Hand and wrist specialist Dr. Sofie Goeminne performed the operation under the supervision of the renowned sports surgeon Dr. Show Claes. “Julien's surgery went well,” said Dr. Claes will know afterwards. “Only now do we know exactly what the damage to his wrist is. Actually the inflammation caused most of the problems, but we cleaned everything and the joint is also stable. That is very positive news.”
Lieber will begin his rehabilitation immediately and must return for a check-up in three weeks. The expectation is that - if his recovery goes according to plan - he will be given the green light to start driving again.
